Edith + Tyler: It's Been a Long Time Coming

A few years back, I was photographing Edith's professional head shots. As an academic and an author, she wanted something fun and professional, and personally I think we hit the nail on the head (see on Edith's website here).

The whole time throughout the photo shoot she was joking that her boyfriend Tyler was going to pop out and surprise her with a proposal. I, the photographer, was very much aware that this was not going to happen.

A few months later, I receive an email from Tyler. he said that he wanted to surprise Edith with a proposal on camera but we both knew that was going to be incredibly difficult as she had expressed multiple times. How much she wanted a proposal to be photographed. So we set a trap.

I posted on my Instagram (@lovedrunkphoto please follow) that I was looking for a couple for an autumnal styled shoot. I told Tyler that if Edith didn't respond to the call out, I would tell her that a couple had pulled out last minute and ask them to do it in their place. I didn't need to do that though, because Edith was the first person to respond.

At the time, Edith was very busy finishing up her PhD, so she told me that Tyler was going to organise the whole thing in her stead.

So after a few Instagram messages pretending that I hadn't been speaking to this man for the last month about organising this very photo shoot, we met at Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens for a pretend styled shoot. Safe to say, Edith was surprised.

Fast forward to November 2024, in the beautiful Aldinga Secret Garden, and these two finally tied the knot.

Loved Up Weddings with Courtney took guests through Edith and Tyler's journey, from just friends to soulmates, with a special appearance from their fur baby Jemima.

Staazi & Co filled our bellies and our hearts with their delicious vegan yiros'.

Wedding favours came in the form of books, wrapped to disguise their identity with a only a few descriptive words to let guests know what they were getting into.

After an intimate first dance, guests joined the happy couple on the dance floor and danced the hot night away.

And Rhiannon Miller Video got it all on film.
